Mexican coal-fired generation hits 12-month high in August

MEXICO'S COAL-fired power generation reached 1.53 TWh in August, up 4.2 from 1.47 TWh in July and marking the highest monthly output since 1.73 TWh in August 2014, according to Secretaria de Energia (Sener). This gave coal a 6 share of the country's generation mix in August 2015. Thermal power - diesel, fuel oil, natural gas and coal - had an 83 share overall, with 9 for hydro, 4 nuclear, and the rest shared between wind power and photovoltaic generation.
