Met coal prices creep lower amid patchy demand

Spot seaborne prices for premium Australian hard coking coal have edged lower over the past fortnight, as pockets of demand prove insufficient to keep up with strong supply options. Interest and enquiries centred again on pulverised coal injection (PCI), coming from diverse locations including South America, India and China. A recent pullback in the availability of some Russian PCI is thought to be partially behind tightening supply.
