CURRENT food contact legislation demands that only food which is safe for human health may be put into the market, which has in turn spurred the need for new and sustainable packaging solutions with maximum standards in terms of food safety and food safe packaging. Keeping this in view Henkel along with its industry partner Siegwerk recently held an interactive industry event on the Role of Flexible Packaging in Food Safety in Mumbai and also in Delhi. Welcoming the attendees, Mr S Sunil Kumar, senior director, Henkel Adhesive Technologies, stressed upon the importance of this event as Consumers' demands for healthy and safe products as well as a growing demand on the part of legislation and authorities have raised the importance of food safety significantly.
