Steel spot markets showed unusual strength going into the traditional holiday period, increasing substantially during July, so that most of the prices in our table have been revised upward retrospectively. After putting on around 25-30 euros/tonne (32-39 dollars/tonne) over the past two months spot HR coil prices now stand 90-120 euros/tonne (150-200 dollars/tonne) higher than they did at the beginning of the year. CR coil markets have been more varied, but with equally impressive price rises - 26-50 euros/tonne (20-65 dollars/tonne).
