Taweelah Aluminium Extrusion Company(Talex) is a greenfield extrusioncompany based on a USD240 millioninvestment by its joint owners Senaat– the Abu Dhabi government's GeneralHolding Corp., which holds a 50 stakein Talex – and Gulf Extrusion Co. LLC.The company was founded as part of AbuDhabi's Economic Vision 2030 roadmapfor the establishment of a diversified andgrowth-oriented economy.Talex is vertically integrated with a casthouse,two extrusion lines, powder coating, anodizingand fabrication facilities. The company islocated at the Khalifa Industrial Zone AbuDhabi (Kizad) in direct neighbourhood ofEGA's Al Taweelah smelter, which suppliesliquid metal via the so-called Hot Metal Roadinto the Talex casthouse. This offers energyand cost savings against the usual processroute of remelting ingots for the productionof billets.
