Relativistic, QED, and nuclear mass effects in the magneticshielding of ~3He

The magnetic shielding o- of ~3He is studied. The complete relativistic corrections of orderO(α~2),leading QED corrections of order O (α~3 In α),and finite nuclear mass effects of orderO(m/ m_N)arecalculated with high numerical precision. The resulting theoretical predictions for σ=59.967 43(10) X 10~(-6)are the most accurate to date among all elements and supportthe use of ~3Heas a NMR standard. ? 2009 American Institute of Physics.
