Hot-dip zinc alloy coating with aluminum and magnesium protects steel sheet from corrosion

Coated steel manufacturer Wheeling-Nisshin, Inc. (Follansbee, West Virginia), a subsidiary of Japanese steel maker Nis-shin Steel Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan), is upgrading and modifying the hot-dip aluminizing and galvanizing line at its West Virginia plant to produce a hot-dip zinc-aluminum-magnesium (Zn-Al-Mg) alloy-coated steel sheet in the United States. The corrosion-resistant alloy coating is comprised of 91 % zinc, 6% aluminum, and 3% magnesium.
