Shell reports progress on new MEG plant in Singapore

Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd has appointed Mitsubishi Chemical Engi- neering Corporation and Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd for the basic design engi-peering package for its new 750,000-tpa monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant.The plant,to be located at Singapore Petrochemical Complex,Jurong Island,is expected to begin operations in 2009.It is part of a petrochemical project that is planned as a collaboration between Shell and the Singapore Economic Development Board.
