Antioxidant and antibacterial phytate hydrogel for MRSA infected wound healing

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infected wound healing and repair is still a challenge. Herein, we developed an in situ-formed copper phytate nanoparticle-F127 hydrogel (FPSCu) with multifunctional properties for MRSA-infected wound treating. FPSCu hydrogel showed the injectability, temperature sensitivity, inherent antioxidant activity and high antibacterial activity against MRSA, as well as good biocompatibility. The MRSA infected wound model in mice showed that the FPSCu hydrogel could inhibit bacterial infection and accelerate wound healing. The facile preparation process and multifunctional bioactivities enable FPSCu the highly promising as the advanced dressing for wound repair.
