Petroleum Ministry in favour of regulatory mechanism for gas market

The Petroleum Ministry has strongly emphasised the need for a proper regulatory mecha-nism to be put in place to ensure a systematic development of the Indian gas market in a cost-ef- fective,efficient,safe and com- petitive manner.The Ministry has noted that in line with its intentions of setting up of an independent regulator for the downstream petroleum sector,the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Bill has been reintroduced in Parliament.
