EIA Expects Record US Oil Output in 2018

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) projects that domestic output will average 10 million barrels per day in 2018, breaking the previous record set back in 1970. The new production estimates released in the agency’s monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook were only slightly revised up from May but confirm growth expectations from tight oil regions such as the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin this year and next (OD May10’17).
