Whether it is lemonade or iced tea: 30% of the people all over the world consume soft drinks on a daily basis. A recent global consumer survey, conducted by TNS on behalf of the GNT Group, indicates that this percentage could be even higher if manufacturers relied more on natural ingredients. According to the study, every second consumer assumes that soft drinks contain undesirable ingredients such as artificial colours or flavours. Therefore, one out of three (33 % ) carefully checks the ingredientlabel before he or she buys a certain product of this category. When it comes to ingredients soft drinks should not contain, "artificial sweeteners" are most frequently mentioned by the respondents (50 %), followed by artificial flavours and colours (48%).
