MONTE CARLO METHOD FOR RADIOLOGICAL X-RAYEXAMINATIONS

摘要

The organ doses and the effective dose of patients exposed at an X-ray beam,having photon energies between 10-150 keV, are analyzed by using a new methodnamed IradMed. Three major radiological procedures, mammography, radiographyand Computer Tomography are considered. The Rayleigh scattering, the Comptonscattering and the photoelectric effect were taken into account for patient dosecalculations. The Compton scattering is modeled by using "classic", Kahn,Wielopolski and EGS procedures. The best results for angular distribution wasobtained when the EGS-based algorithm was used. It can be noted that patient dosesdetermined by using Kahn or "classic" procedures are in good agreement with datafrom literature when similar computing methods are used. From our data, for patientdose calculations, the EGS procedure is recommended.
