Residual fuel oil prices jumped 1.75/barrel Wednesday in the US Gulf Coast as buying interest picked up. The bullish price movement countered softening NYMEX May crude futures, which settled 16 cants lower at 49.25/barrel. As a result, the fuel oil crack spread strengthened to minus 5.15/b, from minus 7.06/b on Tuesday.
