This special issue contains selected papers of the 3rd International Meeting on Medical Engineering and Therapy which took place in Nancy and was organized by the PhD School of Lorraine on Biology, Health and Environment, Nancy University-UHP, the Lorraine Group of Cartilage, with the sponsorship of Region de Lorraine and the European Society on Cell and Tissue Engineering and Therapy.Cell Therapy and Tissue Engineering are two of the most expanding branches of applied medical biotechnology. They require new approaches to clinical problems which can only be achieved by creating communications between biology, physics, mechanics, engineering clinicians, surgeons, industry and also health administration. The main purpose of this 3rd meeting was to create a platform for exchanges of ideas between PhD students and researchers.
