CNOOC completes deal or Eagle Ford Shale stake

Sydney-CNOOC International has completed its previously announced purchase of a 33.3 stake in Chesapeake Energy's 600,000 net oil and gas leasehold acres in the Eagle Ford Shale in south Texas, the companies said November 16. The acquisition by CNOOC International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of New York- and Hong Kong-listed CNOOC Limited, was first flagged in October (ON 10/12).
