Earlier,~1 we have demonstrated that the reactin of tetra-15-crown-5-phthalocyanine H_2(R_4Pc)(R=15-crown-5)with Yb~III acetate tetrahydrate in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo5.4.0undec-7-ene(DBU)in refluxing 1-chloronaphthalene (2 h)afforded a series of sandwich complexes with the 1:2 and 2:3 metal-ligand ratios(Scheme 1).
