RCGP Conference Harrogate 2010 What is the Royal College of General Practitioners National Conference?

The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) National Conference is a 3 day annual conference for medical students, Associates-in-Training (AiTs), FirstB, GPs and practice staff and managers. This year it was held at Harrogate. It is made up of stimulating lectures, interactive workshops and fun socials. It also offers a great opportunity to network.This year's theme was 'sustainable primary care': sustainable in terms of playing our part in climate change and sustainable in that primary care delivers the majority of cost-effective health care. The theme was evident in the stands and talks. There were some fantastic keynote speakers including Tanni Grey Thompson (sportsperson), lona Health (RCGP president), Clare Gerada (Chair Elect RCGP) and Jonty Heversedge (celebrity GP).
