Germany softens 2009 biofuels blending goal

London-Germany's government has softened its proposal for minimum biofuel blend levels in road fuels for 2009 over sustainability concerns for the fuels,the country's environment ministry said October 22.According to a cabinet decision,the country's refiners and fuel suppliers will be required to blend at least 5.25 biofuels in their fuels-based on the energy content-from next year,down from 6.25 proposed previously.
