COP26: How to Judge Success or Failure

How important is the Glasgow meeting? COP (conference of the parties) climate meetings are typically held every year. Paris in 2015 was the big one, and, because of the need for a targeted agreement, it was easier to judge whether it was a success or failure. The COP26 gathering in Glasgow is not as important as Paris, but it is more than just a regular meeting because it marks the Orst time that countries are set to ratchet up their commitments under the Paris mechanism. Other COPs since Paris were largely focused on Onalizing details.
