California Resources, the state's largest oil and natural gas producer, plans to target both direct and indirect carbon emissions as part of its strategy to get to net-zero by 2045. In its third-quarter earnings release on Thursday, California Resources said it was advancing carbon storage and solar projects to carry the strategy forward. While a number of US oil and gas players have unveiled net-zero goals , most of those only involve addressing Scope 1 and 2(operational)emissions. California Resources said its target would also involve the more elusive Scope 3(end-use)emissions.
