The deadlock over prices for imports in the current financial year continued this week between the government and international suppliers. Even if agreement is reached soon, large-scale shipments are unlikely to resume before September because of logistics. Signs of a shortage of MOP include inquiries by importers about prompt business at a provisional price. These have been declined by the suppliers pending an overall agreement.
