State feed control requirements

This section contains an outline of the labeling requirements as defined by the Association of American Feed Control Officials. Also reviewed is a summary of state requirements for feed registrations, including tonnage fees, tonnage taxes and labelingexceptions. State regulation affects all feeds--ingredients and mixed products, medicated and non-medicated, registered and custom mixed. It is important, therefore, that feed manufacturers, mixers and distributors are aware of state requirements and the responsibilities they impose. This article is an overview of those requirements that center on labeling, registration and fees.
