Previously we looked at the extraction, refining and supply of aluminium; now we look at aluminium in use and the ease with which it can be re-used. The largest use of aluminium is in transport which takes up 36% of the recycled and primary aluminium produced per year in Europe. This is followed closely by building and construction at 25%. The importance of aluminium in the construction industry cannot be denied and the material is being used in ever more innovative ways by designers and specifiers.
