Civil practitioners have their White Book1 and criminal practitioners have their Archbold.2 Practitioners who, however, regularly attend the committees and tribunals of the plethora of regulatory bodies covered in this new work have never had a working bible to take with them, containing useful commentary and a collection of essential statutes, regulations and rules. Often one sees the odd copy of Archbold floating around the committee and panel rooms of such regulatory bodies, on the premise that its description of the criminal laws of evidence will provide a useful guide. Joanne Glynne QC and David Gomez have now ended the Cinderella status of the health care regulatory practitioner and have delivered themselves of a worthy tome, which will fill the huge gap in the market as the standard practitioners' work in this area.
