Chinese oil companies should seize the opportunity created by low prices to buy more overseas assets, the former head of China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) said Monday. Zhou Jiping, who served as No. 2 to the acquisitive ex-CNPC chairman Jiang Jiemin for several years and held the top job himself from 2013-15, listed several countries he felt represented good opportunities for Chinese investment in a panel discussion at China’s parliamentary gathering in Beijing.
