Argentina’s government has officially launched a program paying energy companies above- market prices for new unconventional gas production, almost two months after President Mauricio Macri announced the incentive (OD Jan.11’17). According to a resolution published by the energy ministry in Monday’s issue of Argentina’s official bulletin, the government will pay producers $7.50/MMBtu of new shale and tight gas production through the end of next year.
