Relationship between tribology characteristics and induced-voltage magnetic field in ring-rod-type dry wear test (SUJ2 bearing steel and Cr{sub}3C{sub}2, Cr{sub}2O{sub}3 sprayed coat)
In the surfaces of sliding metals under magnetic field usually ferromagnetic, diamagnetic and nonmagnetic agents are formed. Yamamoto et al. reported the method of reduction of friction and wear by eliminating the electric current in the sliding interface. By using the same approach, reduction of friction and wear of chromium carbide (Cr{sub}3C{sub}2) and chromium oxide (Cr{sub}2O{sub}3) against bearing steel (SUJ2) in magnetic field is investigated. These materials are usually used in high temperature.
