HDPE falls as supply goes longer

Any lingering hopes that producers may have had to raise prices by the proposed EUR30/ tonne in March were soon swept aside by a longer supply situation and lower than normal order intake. Instead, sellers were forced to make price conces-sions. Blown film prices were EUR20/tonne lower with an inflow of material from eastern Europe swelling supply. Injection moulding grades were down by EUR15/tonne with blow moulding down between EUR5- 10/tonne.
