In June 2002, the company 'Active Pin', created in 1995, a subsidiary of DRT (for Derives Resiniques et Terpeniques=resin and terpene byproducts), opened the doors of its Castets production plant, built in 1998 in the Landes Region, France, to the press. Action Pin manufacture agricultural products made from terpene byproducts, which offer an excellent toxicological profile (i.e. exempt from classification) and ecotoxicological profile (i.e. good biodegradability). These terpene by-products are combined with sulfur and copper. Pine oil is associated with the terpene byproducts of colza rape and has been shown to have a certain synergy.
