Clariant on Monday confirmed that it has hired Goldman Sachs to help fend off White Tale from derailing its merger with Huntsman. “We can confirm that we have retained Goldman Sachs as additional advisor in relation to the investment of, the positions taken, and the demands made by White Tale,” Clariant tells CW. Earlier this month, Keith Meister’s activist hedge fund Corvex Management together with 40 North, an investment firm run by David Winter and David Millstone, through a company called White Tale Holdings, raised their stake in Clariant to more than 10.
