Although the centre of European political power resides in Brussels,there is still a place for national rubber industry organisations,according to ABIC,the Belgian rubber association.Dominique de Hemptinne,heaof ABIC saithere is a clear neefor national associations in the rubber sector.He gave two reasons.The first is to gather data from local companies anindividuals,which cannot be done on a continent-wide scale,anthe seconis to liaise between local companies anthe national governments who have to implement legislation anguidance handedown from Brussels.
