Umicore starts up metal organic precursors plant

Umicore’s (Brussels) precious metals chemistry business unit has inaugurated a production unit for advanced metal organic precursors at Hanau, Germany. The plant will produce trimethylgallium (TMGa) and triethylgallium (TEGa) for use in the semiconductor and light-emitting diode markets, respectively, Umicore says. Umicore is the only manufacturer of TMGa and TEGa in Europe.
