BorsodChem declares force majeure on MDI, chlor-alkali

BorsodChem (Kazincbarcika, Hungary), part of Wanhua Group (Yantai, China), has declared force majeure on methylene di-para-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) and its derivatives out of BorsodChem's plant at Kazincbarcika, effective 14 August and until further notice, the company says. The force majeure declaration follows a technical issue at one critical raw material supplier that forced BorsodChem to stop MDI production, the company says.
