Hanwha Solutions to invest $283 million in caustic soda expansion

Hanwha Solutions (Seoul) says it will invest 355 billion South Korean won ($283 million) to expand its production capacity for caustic soda by 270,000 metric tons/year at its petrochemical site in Yeosu, South Korea. The company’s current production capacity for caustic soda is 840,000 metric tons/year. The extra production capacity is slated to come online in the frst half of 2025 and is expected to generate additional sales of more than W300 billion annually, it says.
