At the end of the last article I referred to the idea of changing behaviours by 'nudging'. This is not a colloquial term, it is part of modern management strategies and is taught in business schools. It is at the subtle end of the spectrum of such change, as opposed to the use of traumatic and dramatic impact. It is about change by evolution not revolution. It is already part of our working lives, although we may not have realized this until now, and 1 will use examples to demonstrate the theory and practice. So, what is 'nudge'?
