Oil and natural gas regulators in Texas are investigating a 4.5 magnitude earthquake that shook the heart of the Permian Basin on Monday, the latest and strongest in a recent string of temblors to hit the region. A spokesperson for the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) told Energy Intelligence on Tuesday that the agency has already been in contact with oil and gas disposal well operators in the area and is sending inspectors to facilities.
