4WD Chassis Dynamometer with Independently Controlled Rollers for the National Traffic Safety and Environmental Laboratory
For the measurement of automobile exhaust gases emission and fuel economy, we delivered a new 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) chassis dynamometer to the National Traffic Safety and Environmental Laboratory. The major features of this system are as follows: (1) The adoption of a 4WD chassis dynamometer with independent controlled overhung type rollers. This is applicable to vehicles including future in-wheel motor type EV. (2) An adoption of an operator panel for the chassis dynamometer TYPE-i version to realize a compact design and simple operation. (3) It comes with an automatic vehicle centering unit and an auto-wheelbase setting unit to reduce the vehicle setup time. It is also equipped with evaluation functions for road load control performance and front-rear roller synchronization performance evaluation that complies with the Japan Automobile Standard JASO-E011. These function guarantees the quality of test data.
