In the field of automotive testing, there is a growing need for a transient evaluation tester that simulates the behavior of a vehicle with high accuracy on an actual road. In this connection, the dynamometer control unit is required to have a large capacity and high performance. By carrying the same features of our conventional series of dynamometer control units THYFREC VT330DY ("VT330DY" hereafter), we released the latest series of dynamometer control units THYFREC VT340DY ("VT340DY" hereafter) that offers a larger capacity and meets the latest advanced control mode. Compared with the VT330DY Series, the VT340DY Series realized a large capacity by parallelizing converters and inverters. By improving the maximum output frequency, it allowed the feature of control of dynamometers. In addition, by adding a phase control function to the Permanent Magnet (PM) control, it can handle torque evaluation testing for an Electric Vehicle (EV) motor test, starting up from zero speed.
