Aramco Asia plans to expand its downstream business in the Fujian and Yunnan provinces in China, the company has announced. “We plan to...build a chemical hub to distribute products from our operations in this region,” said Aramco Asia president and CEO Nabil al-Nuaim. “Xiamen is one of the prime candidates for this chemical hub as we can leverage the benefits from China’s Free Trade Zone initiative,” he said at a meeting with Xiamen Municipal authorities in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Aramco’s chemical sales office is based in Xiamen, which is near Fujian Refining Petrochemical Co. (FREP), a joint venture owned 50 by Sinopec and 25 each by Aramco and ExxonMobil.
