Sasol says Lake Charles cracker project is 74 complete

Sasol says that its Lake Charles Chemicals Project (LCCP) in Louisiana is 74 complete. To date, the company has spent $7.5 billion on the project, in line with the revised cost estimate of $11 billion issued in 2016. The LCCP consists of a world-scale 1.5 million ton per year ethane steam cracker and six downstream chemical units. A low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant, a linear LDPE plant (LLDPE), and an ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol (EO/EG) plant will together consume around two-thirds of the ethylene produced by the cracker.
