Open air cremation

The Court of Appeal has ruled that there is nothing in Britain's cremation laws specifically forbidding someone from being cremated in the open air. The cremation would need to be conducted in an enclosed building away from the public's gaze and to follow environmental regulations: see R (on the application of Ghai) v Newcastle City Council [2010} EWCA Civ. 59.
