Sinopec reports breakthrough in shale gas exploration

Sinopec says it has made a significant, additional shale gas discovery near Chongqing, China. A major discovery well in the Dingshan shale gas block is producing 205,600 cubic meters/day, the company says. The Dingshan shale block sits 150 kilometers from the Jiaoshiba block, the current major gas resources within the Fuling shale gas field, and covers a land area of more than 500 square kilometers.
