Malaysia's LNG exports edge up

Malaysia exported 2.63mn t of LNG in December last year, up by around 1.7pc from the previous month. The slightly higher December volumes helped contribute to full-year exports of 25.3mn t in 2016, 2pc above 2015 levels of 24.8mn t. December's export value rose by 23pc in domestic currency terms from a month earlier to 3.8bn ringgit ($854mn), with the average export price up by 7pc to $6.20/mn Btu from November's $5.79/mn Btu.
