Germany's chemical-pharmaceutical industry had a positive second- quarter 2017, according to the latest quarterly report by the chemical industry association VCI (Frankfurt). Sales in Germany's third largest industry increased considerably, mainly thanks to rising prices, VCI says. Capacity utilization was high for the second quarter in a row, at 86.9, although down slightly from 87.7 in the first quarter.
