Joint Counter RCIED Electronic Warfare (JCREW) Program

There is steady if somewhat declining support for the program in the form of millions of dollars in funding, as requested by the U.S. Navy and approved by Congress. Based on an estimated projection of the FY15 defense budget, $109 million is likely to be spent on the effort through the forecast period. The Joint Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (JCREW) program was launched as a U.S. Navy effort to develop protection against radio-controlled IEDs for U.S. and allied forces in Iraq.
