Refinery operations update: US Gulf coast

Citgo reported flaring this morning in the east plant of its 165,000 b/d refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. The refiner, a subsidiary of Venezuelan national oil firm PdV, notified a community alert system of “minor flaring” at 10:08am ET. A gasoline-producing fluid catalytic cracking unit triggered malfunctions earlier this month and in July at the refinery. Today’s filing did not attribute the flaring to any specific unit.
