NOTES ON DEFINITIONS AND REGULATIONS FOR OIL IMPORTS

Import costs of crude oil have been obtained from the monthly Crude Oil Import Register submitted to the IEA Secretariat. Details on national duties and regulations for crude oil imports are given below. In general, imported products are subject to the same domestic taxes as domestically refined products (exception: Japan) or to import duties which are equivalent to these taxes (Australia, Switzerland).
