Mexico Expands Federal Aid for Pemex

Mexican state oil company Pemex said Thursday that it has received some $4.74 billion from the government through the Orst nine months of 2021 to service its substantial debt payments. Including tax credits, Pemex said it has received $8.3 billion in total government support so far this year. Mexico’s chamber of deputies recently approved a measure that would further lower a key company tax rate to 40 next year, down from 54 this year, 58 in 2020 and 65 in 2019. The measure is still being considered in the country's senate.
