Acergy hit by downturn

Acergy said income from continuing operations came in at US $76m in the second quarter, down from $90m in the second quarter of 2008. In the Northern Europe and Canada region, the company reported a loss of $4.5m in the quarter, compared to a profit of $32.4m in the same period a year earlier, "reflecting lower activity levels in a challenging market environment."
